Hi! I'm Elizabeth, also known as 'Ellie' Harbaugh, a multilingual speech-language pathologist, native English and Spanish speaker and fluent in Portuguese.

I was bilingually trained in graduate school to work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. I received my Master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas Christian University (TCU) with an emphasis in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology.

Born and raised in Chile as a bilingual myself, I am deeply passionate about bilingualism and preserving linguistic culture and identity. I provide coaching to families raising  multilingual children, encouraging the use of the family language/s while understanding the challenges posed by the dominance of English in our society.

As a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner, I am committed to recognizing and valuing the diverse ways individuals experience and process the world. My goal is to ensure that everyone, including those who may not use verbal speech or whose potential is not fully realized through spoken language alone, has access to forms of communication that fully meet their needs and individual abilities.

As a school-based multilingual SLP for the last 8 years, I have worked with children of all ages in the schools and have a deep understanding of school-based issues and the academic and educational expectations of children throughout all grade levels. My approach to speech therapy is not only fun and engaging, but also grounded in high expectations for all my students. I've witnessed remarkable transformations, with not only increased communication skills, but also students developing increased self-esteem, becoming better self-advocates, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around them, and growing into more confident communicators as they make gains in their speech and language goals.
